New Open Baffle 215-2000-EXC-OB driver

In response to the growing popularity of Open Baffle configurations, Guy Le Cornec, designer of the original 215-2000-EXC, has added a deeper pole piece to increase excursion and raise the Qts value. "This makes the driver which already performs extremely well in an Open Baffle even better", says Guy. And the new design comes with an added perk: The driver's sensitivity is now the perfect match for the 400-2000-EXC at the crossover point, making them a perfect pair for the new Open Baffle design Supravox aimed at enthusiasts who want to build their own two-way especially when coupling the 215-2000-EXC-OB to the Supravox 400-2000-EXC.

New Open Baffle Design for 215-2000-EXC-OB + 400-2000-EXC

In a drive to support Supravox enthusiasts who experiment with Open Baffle configurations, Guy Le Cornec has just released a new Open Baffle design optimized for the new 215-2000-EXC-OB coupled to the 400-2000-EXC driver. Audiophiles who are re-discovering the exceptional transient reponse that is unique to Open Baffle speaker designs are looking for drivers optimized for this application but they are also asking for deeper bass response. The new Supravox Open Baffle design answers both demands. And there's more: Enthusiasts can easily build an Open Baffle in a day or two with material costs far below box-type speaker designs. The flat panel is 30" wide with wrap-back sides 12" deep and a total height of 47". The 215-2000-EXC-OB should be set at 27.5" floor to center of driver. The 400EXC is set equally at 8" off the floor.
